About Krista

Hi!

I'm Krista, a life and style blogger at Covering the Bases and founder of Penny Linn Designs. I currently live in Fairfield County, Connecticut with my husband, our newborn son, and our calico cat, Dixie.

I was born in Santa Ana, CA, raised in Dallas, TX, went to high school in the northern suburbs of Chicago, IL, then on to college in Lexington, KY (Go Cats!!), moved to New York for my first job out of college, and lived there until recently planting roots in Connecticut.

I started my blog in 2012 as a way to document my life in college and found it was a great creative outlet and one that would (eventually) help me in all my future career paths.

I graduated from The University of Kentucky in 2013 with a degree in Business Communications, which in 2013 was the best for a career in social media, and moved to New York one month after graduation to work at Major League Baseball. I was with Major League Baseball for five years before leaving to work for myself full time. 

I met my husband at the end of 2013 through work, and we were married in September of 2019 in a small backyard wedding in Nantucket, MA. 

In April of 2020, I decided to try my hand at painting a needlepoint canvas and fell in love with the process. Over the following months, Penny Linn Designs would be created through a lot of love, excitement and hard work. I'm so happy to have you here.
