The Penny Linn Flagship store is nestled in the heart of downtown Rowayton, CT. We would love to see you in the store! We are easily accessible by trains, planes, and automobiles. See below for some guidelines on how to navigate to our store at 161 Rowayton Ave.
By train, Penny Linn is an easy commute for those with access to the Metro-North Railroad via the New Haven Line. From Grand Central station in NYC, the train ride is just about an hour, running roughly every hour on the hour from New York.
Once you reach the Rowayton station, the store is an easy 15 minute walk down Rowayton Ave. Head south from the station on Rowayton Ave toward Belmont Pl. At the fork with Cudlipp St, turn left to stay on Rowayton Ave, and follow the road just 0.3mi more to Penny Linn!
By car, Penny Linn is easily accessible from NYC, New Jersey, and Philly.
From NYC, leave Manhattan via the FDR Drive (northbound) or Harlem River Drive. Cross into the Bronx and merge onto I-95 N (Cross Bronx Expressway), following signs for the George Washington Bridge/New Haven, but make sure to stay on I-95 N (do not cross back into New Jersey) heading toward Connecticut. I-95 becomes the Connecticut Turnpike, continue on until you reach the Norwalk area (Exit 12 or 13) following local signs toward Rowayton/Wilson Ave/Rowayton Ave. From Exit 12 or 13, drive a few minutes south toward the waterfront neighborhood of Rowayton.
It should take roughly 1-1.5 hours, depending on traffic and where in the city you started out. There is also the option of a scenic route via Hutchinson & Merritt Parkways that offers a more relaxed ride, no trucks, and great fall foliage!
From New Jersey, it is an easy trip via I-95. Depending on where you are located (and daily traffic) you will head north/east utilizing either the GW Bridge, Lincoln Tunnel, or highways in Manhattan, toward Connecticut. Continue on I-95 (or the Connecticut turnpike) heading east along the coastline of Connecticut toward the southwestern CT area. As you get into southwestern Connecticut, you’ll leave I-95 toward exits for Norwalk / Rowayton. Use local exits and routes (such as Route 7, local state routes, or connector roads) to reach Rowayton Avenue.
Travel time will vary based on where in New Jersey you are traveling from. From North Jersey, the trip is roughly 1.5 hours.
From Philly, leave heading northeast toward the New Jersey Turnpike, getting onto I-95 N from wherever you are in the city. Cross the Delaware River into New Jersey, then follow signs for the New Jersey Turnpike (I-95 N) which you will follow north for most of the trip through New Jersey. Cross into New York and continue on I-95 N toward Connecticut, staying on as it becomes the Connecticut Turnpike. Keep heading east/northeast for about 25–30 miles until you reach the Norwalk/Rowayton exit. Use Exit 12 or Exit 13 for Norwalk / Rowayton. Follow local signage south toward Rowayton Ave. This should take around 2.5-3 hours in normal traffic.
If you are traveling in from out of state, Penny Linn is also accessible via the major area airports.
From Laguardia (LGA) the best way to reach our store is via car (ride service/Taxi, etc.) Via car you would Exit LaGuardia and follow signs for the Grand Central Parkway East, toward the Whitestone Bridge. Cross the bridge into the Bronx, and then merge onto the Hutchinson River Parkway North/I-678 N connector. Then merge onto I-95 North, following the same general car directions as above. It will take around 1-1.5 hours from Laguardia via car, depending on traffic.
From Westchester County Airport (HPN) it is also easiest and most direct to utilize a car or ride service. Once you exit the airport via car, head toward I-287 or I-684/local roads that connect to I-95 North/Merritt Parkway (depending on traffic). Depending on route, you may join I-95 North (via local connectors) or Merritt Parkway (Route 15 East). Stay on your chosen highway (Merritt or I-95) heading east/toward Norwalk. Take one of the Norwalk/Rowayton exits and follow local roads to Rowayton Ave. The ride will take roughly 30-45 minutes.
We hope to see you in store soon!
