General Needlepoint
I saw KC Needlepoint while thrifting next door. That night, I did a deep dive on Tik Tok about needlepoint and watching tutorials on basketweaving. I went back to KC Needlepoint the next day to kit my first project!
I'm a basketweave girly! I do enjoy a decorative stitch from time to time, but I prefer to play around with different threads than I do with stitches. I have yet to do an open stitch and want to try the t-stitch next!
Silk & Ivory on 13 mesh, and Silk Lame Braid on 18 mesh!
About Your Designs
I had many ideas for things to stitch but I couldn't find canvases for them, so I started designing my own charts and posting them on social media. I got a lot of compliments and interest from people online, and I knew that I couldn't handle producing them on my own, which led to me getting in touch with the Penny Linn team!
Modern, playful, and colorful!
I pull inspiration from everything around me! I'll randomly get ideas before going to bed, or while I'm scrolling on Pinterest for outfit ideas. There's a list on my phone of design ideas that I'm constantly adding to (quicker than I can keep up with, I might add)!
I love my themed butterflies! The needlepoint themed one is probably my favorite. I also love the disco strawberry I designed, which has more disco themed things to follow!
I had so much fun stitching my Coachella canvas. I really challenged myself with the stitching on that canvas and I love self-finishing with beaded cording.
Be in 110% zen mode - have a yummy drink, a good movie / music playlist, all your supplies handy! I am not fond of painting, but it's something I do from time to time as a designer and I do everything I can to make it enjoyable lol.
About You
On my couch! I hate when strangers talk to me in public and I live in too friendly of a city to be stitching in public - haha!
Playing pickleball!!! I am absolutely obsessed with it.
Lip gloss, my needlepoint pill box (which carries all my needles, tacks, needle threaders, needleminders, etc.), and at least three projects.
I'm on my millionth time of rewatching Sex in the City! I'm a huge TV show rewatcher! I also rewatch The Summer I Turned Pretty very often and can't WAIT for the next season!
I don't listen to podcasts often, but I listen to Call Her Daddy when there is a really good guest on.
Omg it's so hard to choose! I love following finishers because it inspires me to get through my canvases and gives me ideas on what to turn my projects into. @Unchiffonfonfon and @jbneedlepointfinisher are so talented. My favorite non-needlepoint follows are @emmaleger (fashion influencer) and @itsparristodd (pro pickleball player).
I’m out here not really restricting myself when it comes to needlepoint purchases and I really have no business acting like this!!! But I am proud of myself for keeping my canvas stash small. If I had all the time and money I would buy all the canvases on my wishlist, and I would design, paint, and stitch a bolster pillow for my bed and a pickleball paddle cover.
Stitching through my stash!!! I go through periods of not being able to stitch due to migraines and vision issues but I really am happiest when I can have time to rot and stitch.
