With the release of the new Penny Linn x Petite Keep collaboration, I KNEW it was finally time to upgrade my needlepoint storage. I have stitched over 60 ornaments and two stockings to date, with 18 more ornaments out at the finisher and two more stockings underway, so my previous solution (an ugly acid free cardboard box) was bursting at the seams. We spend so much time on our needlepoint pieces, and they really deserve so much better than a drab box shoved in the back of a closet! When I got the sneak peek of the Petite Keep Trunks with the classic Penny Linn Needlepoint Print inside I let out an audible gasp and knew I had to have one of my own. I thought it might be helpful for me to share how I pack away and store all of my needlepoint in my new Trunk!
I chose the Petite Keep Grand Trunk in Light Blue with the exclusive Penny Linn Needlepoint Print (in pink) inside! The Trunk is very spacious, and holds all of my ornaments (60+) and two full size stockings with plenty of room for more. I chose to have mine monogrammed with “Shih Stitches,” the play on words I chose for my Instagram handle, in the Waterford font in Light Gray Blue thread. I love the pink and blue combo on the inside and outside of the Trunk, a nod to my boy/girl twins!
I also received two of the Petite Pouches from the collab in the Penny Linn Needlepoint Print - they are acid-resistant, making them absolutely perfect for needlepoint storage!
I immediately arranged all of my favorite needlepoint projects in the Trunk - I love seeing them all together like this!
Penny Linn and Petite Keep created a special Acid Free Tissue Paper (crucial for needlepoint storage to protect the fibers) that was subtly printed with the Penny Linn Needlepoint Print - so perfect! The sheets are large, so I grouped my ornaments into “themes” and wrapped them up in rows to layer them into the trunk. Each row held between 5-8 ornaments, depending on their size.
With the 10 sheets of tissue that come in the pack I was able to store all of my ornaments plus my tree topper!
Even with all of my ornaments and both stockings tucked inside, there is plenty additional space to add in more! If you want to store your stockings alongside of your ornaments I would definitely recommend the Grand Trunk as it’s the perfect size to accommodate your growing collection. It will keep all of your precious things safe, and doubles as an adorable accessory in any space!
I am so thrilled with my Trunk! It feels like the most special way to store my precious needlepoint, and I know it will bring me joy every time I open it up to add a new piece!
