General Needlepoint
I have to give the credit to TikTok! In late 2023, after coming across a few needlepoint videos and realizing that today’s needlepointing is “not my mother’s needlepointing”, I was hooked! My mom’s been needlepointing for decades.. I should have listened to her sooner! My first project was a very ambitious 19’’ x 8.5’’ Atlanta Braves pennant flag pillow - my prized possession. I’ve been addicted since!
My favorite is the good ole continental! It allows me to almost “draw” out my patterns when I don’t paint my canvas first - which is often. I’d love to learn a background stitch and incorporate beads.
Regular DMC floss. I love the variety of colors and the convenience of purchasing at my local craft store. I am very limited, as there isn’t a LNS where I live.
About Your Designs
When I first started, I’d scroll through pages and pages of designs and couldn’t seem to find exactly what I was looking for (aka a large Atlanta Braves pennant flag, I know, very specific), so I bought some blank canvas from Amazon, started painting and never looked back! I’ve been an artist my whole life and I am the DIY queen so it just made sense I do it myself!
Random, niche, colorful
Pinterest, movies, random scrolls through social media will trigger inspiration. I come up with something so specific in my mind and need it to be a tangible object immediately. Sometimes I come up with ideas quicker than I can create them!
The Wicked Playing Card collection, handsdown! This series was a blast to create, stitch, and share. The ideas just kept flowing! And I love the little community that was created from this series!
My favorite canvas to stitch was my original Scottie Goose Pillow. A 19’’ x 8’’ canvas: 7 geese lined up, each with their own personalities & accessories, with “SCOTTIE” written across their bellies. I stitched this for my best friend and her first baby girl, Scottie.
Painting can get frustrating and can be overwhelming. Go slow and take it one cross section at a time.
About You
Anywhere outside, on the golf cart while my husband golfs, or in bed at the end of a long day, either listening to a good audio book or watching the Braves play.
On a walk with my goldens, fishing, at a braves game, on the golf card. Anything to enjoy the Georgia outdoors!

Right now, I am loving watching @marianniedoll color in cozy coloring books with alcohol markers, following @blakespopnook on his Disneyland adventures, and watching @kaarinjoy maximalize her home with colorful decor and funky objects. It’s funny, I don’t color, I’m not a Disney adult, and my house is very minimalist lol

All of my favorite things! Movies, baseball, places I’ve been to, things around my home. Friends and family also inspire me - I love gifting custom needlepoint projects.
