Meet Olivia Carney from Minnetonka, Minnesota!
General Needlepoint
My best friend from childhood taught me! She was always making the cutest things, and I was so excited to learn. My first project was the classic Morgan Julia bar cart.
My favorite stitch is diagonal mosaic. I love that it is simple, yet creates such an interesting texture. I would love to do more French knots and ribbon work!
My go-to is Pepper Pot, but I love using Very Velvet for certain pieces.
About Your Designs
When I first started stitching, I couldn’t find many options for the types of pop culture designs I wanted to stitch (such as ‘90s-inspired designs), so I created my own!
Colorful, nostalgic, fun
Thinking about my favorite things, favorite memories, and favorite colors! I also think about what I would love to hang on my Christmas Tree or display in my home.

I am currently working on my Troll canvas, using Fuzzy Stuff for the hair! I can’t wait to see (and feel!) it finished.
Take your time. I think it is so much more satisfying to stitch a neatly-painted design than one that is messy and confusing. It’s so tedious, but it’s worth it!
About You
I love stitching in my backyard, on the boat, or by the lake at a friend’s cabin.
Playing with my two little kiddos, taking dance classes, running, or playing piano.
Extra needles (constantly losing them, whoops!), Super Snips scissors, and a cute needleminder.

I would love to design and stitch a cushion for my piano bench.

It’s so hard to choose, but I really love the Nostalgic Computer collection. They bring me back to my childhood / teen days, and the colors are so fun.

Anxious Anxious Girls Love Needlepoint
I have seen several customers do some incredible beading on my Kindness Like Confetti design. I’d love to do the same someday, but I’m not sure I have the patience!
Getting away from the chaos of life and sitting down at my designing / painting desk brings me so much peace! I love creating new things and seeing my ideas come to life.
Celebrating my kids’ 1st and 3rd birthdays, enjoying the fall weather, and of course, the launch of my designs with Penny Linn!
I can hardly wrap my head around the incredible growth of Penny Linn over the past 5 years, so I know amazing things will happen within the next 5! More amazing products and designs, retreats, and additional brick and mortar locations are some things I could see them having up their sleeves!
